Building Opportunities tO Support Tourism (BOOST – formerly the Micro-Tourism Local Leverage Grant program), serves to support tourism-related ventures of eligible businesses within the City of Waynesboro through the award of grant funding up to $3,000 per entry/event. Qualifying businesses include organizations facilitating activities such as fairs and festivals, as well as marketing (including social media applications), design and printing services. Funds are limited to new and existing tourism-related endeavors taking place within the City of Waynesboro between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015.
“This is one of the many ways we’re focusing on partnering with our tourism operators to reinforce the City of Waynesboro as an outstanding destination for guests and a great place to live, work and play. Offering unique events for our citizens and introducing new visitors to our amenities is a top priority, and we want to ensure that the organizations responsible for coordinating local events and festivals have the support they need to offer enhanced services and promotions,” says Jenny Carter, Assistant Director for Economic Development and Tourism. “We’re excited to see the creative ideas and unique events these organizations will be submitting for consideration.”
The grant application, available on the City’s Economic Development website at waynesborobusiness.com, is listed under the “Data Downloads” section of the homepage.
