City of Waynesboro Receives $1.5 Million Grant from Virginia Business Ready Sites Program
Waynesboro, VA – Governor Glenn Youngkin announced today that the City of Waynesboro has been awarded $1.5 million in Virginia Business Ready Sites Program (VBRSP) development funding for the Nature’s Crossing Technology Center. This competitive grant program, administered by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), promotes infrastructure investment to prepare sites across the Commonwealth for new business and industrial growth.
The $1.5 million grant will help make the Nature’s Crossing Technology Center site project-ready—offering a critical competitive edge in attracting high-impact projects and creating new jobs in Waynesboro.
“Thanks to the Commonwealth’s continued investment in site readiness, Waynesboro is in a stronger position to welcome major economic development opportunities,” said Greg Hitchin, Director of Economic Development and Tourism for the City of Waynesboro. “Nature’s Crossing Technology Center is a key component of our long-term strategy to attract advanced manufacturing and technology-based employers to the region.”
The Virginia Business Ready Sites Program partners with localities, utilities, and state agencies to accelerate site development through strategic investments in infrastructure such as roads, utilities, and site grading. These proactive investments are part of the reason Virginia continues to be ranked among the top states in the nation for infrastructure by CNBC.
