First of Grow Waynesboro Winners Pops-Up
WAYNESBORO – BlueOregano is the first of four 2017 Grow Waynesboro grant awardees to open their doors. Come help them celebrate their opening at 403 W Main Street during a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday, June 6th at 2:00pm. The catering company was awarded a $16,000 from this year’s start-up competition, Grow Waynesboro’s The Search, Downtown in April during a live pitch night at Basic City Beer Company after having completed an eight-week business planning class.
BlueOregano has been a dream of owner’s, Chef Caitie Maharg since she was ten years old. Along with her husband, Nathan, Caitie has been operating part-time as a caterer. The funding has allowed BlueOregano to become a full-time catering operation with a Main Street store front that will allow for the additional services of cooking classes and pop-up dinners. This past Saturday they sold out both seatings of their first of such dinners.
“Caitie and Nathan have really hit the ground running with BlueOregano” said Courtney Cranor, Assistant Director of Economic Development and Tourism. “They are seizing every opportunity that comes their way from joining the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce to becoming members of the Fields of Gold Farm Trail. We are delighted to have their commitment and enthusiasm downtown.”
