Tour the Town, Destination Downtown Waynesboro’s Annual Fundraiser, Returns May 28, 2025

Waynesboro, VA – Downtown Waynesboro will be the center of community engagement and local flavor on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, as Tour the Town returns for its fourth year. Hosted by Destination Downtown Waynesboro, the event is a dynamic and delicious way to explore the heart of the city—while supporting a good cause.

Running from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tour the Town is a self-guided experience that invites guests to eat, sip, shop, and stroll their way through downtown. A $45 ticket gets participants a passport filled with exclusive deals, food and drink samples, and treats from more than 20 locally owned businesses. The event offers something for everyone — and kids can enjoy a scavenger hunt that ends with a token for a kids ice cream cone from Kline’s.

“Tour the Town is one of the most fun ways to experience Waynesboro’s local businesses,” said Meghan Swanson, President of Destination Downtown Waynesboro. “It’s a chance to support our downtown merchants, discover new favorites, and enjoy a great day out in the community—all while supporting the revitalization efforts that keep our downtown growing.”

Passports can be purchased in advance online and picked up at the check-in location at 503 W Main Street the day of the event. All proceeds from ticket sales go directly to support Destination Downtown Waynesboro, the nonprofit working to revitalize and promote downtown through events, beautification, and business development efforts.

The festivities wrap up with a free concert by Sundried Opossum under the marquee at the Wayne Theatre as part of the “Wayne on Main” series. A few lucky participants will also win raffle drawings featuring exclusive Waynesboro merchandise and local goodies.
